Hi ^^
I want to make a pixel art 2D game about cats, I hope that project will go well.
Still thinking about main gameplay 😅

DEVLOG #16:
New Features:

  • autosave! (works on my computer),
  • some sfx (might change them later)
    Notes:
    Autosave was a nightmare for me TwT. I had issues with saving files, and at first, I didn’t understand why autosave worked for the player’s position but not for money. After searching for the bug, I realized I had simply forgotten to refresh the money label after loaded data.

  • function for character monologues,

    Notes:
    I still find making music for my game too difficult, so for now I’ll focus on polishing the game.

New Features:

  • improved light system,
  • buttons sprites,
  • new ui (money display and speed-boost icon),
  • updated tilemap (new rug texture and new plant),
  • adjusted order prices to improve the game economy.
    Notes:
    After spending way too much time wondering why my rug still looked ugly, I finally feel like the visuals looks really well. I also tried makeing my own music for the game, but it’s still too difficult TwT

  • milk (speed boost),
  • new functions that make my work on code much easier, like auto update label for displaying money amount, also new functions for alerts,
  • shop, with cat paw animation,
  • shop sprite.
    Notes:
    I downloaded lmms to make some music for this project, but if I need to be honest, I don’t know if I am able to do that, I think it’s too difficult TwT

This looks so cute! I think you mispelled “Chef” to “Cheff” in the main menu accidentally though. Nice seeing other people work with godot too

DEVLOG #10:
New Features:

  • player animations (walk in all directions and idle animation),
  • carpet for the tileset,
  • alert function (for exit doors),
  • got rid of godot warnings,
  • special customer pays more than regular, also regular customers pays based on how much money you have + random amount from 10 to 20.
    Notes:
    I want make music for my game (maybe some 8-bit type music), can anyone give me some tips, what free program use, or how to start?

New Features:

  • random customer sizes,
  • new secret customer (1/30 chance to appear[in the future he pays more for food{but first I need to improve the customer script}]),
  • improved item system,
  • added red arrow on current client order.
    Notes:
    While I was testing the game, I noticed that after some time I only serve to the new customer, where customers before him are waiting for their food. It turned out to be an food spawning issue. I have added a function that automatically rearranges products position when food is taken, and every new customer order ALWAYS goes to the last slot.

New Fatures:

  • main menu with spinning animation,
  • pause menu,
  • new sprites for the customers.
    Notes:
    After like 30 minutes of just staring at my code and thinking “why it is not working TwT” finally I can say I done most of annoying part of the game.
    There are 4 customers now, two with two color variants.

New features:

  • customers order system finally fully works!
  • player can give them food (only what they wanted) and get paid (10-13$)
  • ui (just for test, I will make it pretier later.
    Notes:
    To be honest, that was the most difficult part of this game for now.
    Still I don’t know when I want to ship my project.

Devlog #6:
New features:

  • now player has sprites for all directions,
  • ordering system is really close to be finished, now customers makes orders and food is spawned on countertop. Also every item is connected to table, so player can’t give deliver order to other clients and spawning script have pre-made places to spawn items.
    Notes:
    Maybe I forgot about somehting else to mention in this devlog, but I am really happy to see that my ordering system goes well.

  • beta order system for customers and make them random,
  • script to show (new random customer with random order) and hide customers,
  • sprites for food and order.
    Notes:
    It was really funny to experiment with making customers and beta order system. They look so cuteeee ^^
    Order system for now is only displaying ordered food (in the future I going to add more sprites) by customers (also in the future I want add more unique customers.

Hi ^^
I made a few new thing to my project. I changed movement script for player to move more smoothly
(ease in out), also I made new sprites for tailmap with colision, so player won’t go out from camera. For now I have player sprite when he goes down and up with script to handle this.
