A site with a explosive pixel art countdown to 2026.
Use it to count down to 2026 with friends and family.
Post ship update: I fixed the dropdown arrow(see the image) and made it so you can no longer vote for multiple events.
(I don’t know why it says i worked on this for 1h 18min)

Shipped this project!
I’ve added some final touches: the banner is now working on mobile, you can close the banner manually, and the graphics level now depends on your average FPS during the entire visit.
I hope you enjoy the countdown, and happy New Year!
I added a voting feature where you can vote for the 12 best events of the year. The votes are saved on Supabase. If you enter full screen, the banner disappears, so you can still use it as a countdown for friends and family! I also fixed a small bug where the time displayed didn’t match the time shown in the stats.

I added an ambulance that sometimes drives across the bottom of the screen. You can see the ambulance in the screenshot.
I made this because someone from my family said: fireworks are dangerous, so there needs to be an ambulance to help people.

I added graphical quality adaptation by implementing 5 levels of quality. The site chooses the best option for your device based on your current FPS, but you can also manually select the graphical level yourself.

I added a tracking system where you can see how long people have been watching to the site together ,how many fireworks did go off in that time and how much all that fire work costed if it were real firework. I made this using Supbase. I also improved the performance off the site by removing some glow and trails (sadly). Lastly I added mobile support, now you can watch the countdown on your phone. I made this by scaling the numbers to the size of the screen.

I added a nice background with a moon and some stars(they are slowly moving up) sometimes you can see a falling star. The random firework in the background now has a launch animation. The explosion of the numbers is even cooler (I know I say that a lot) now they turn in the air (looks kinda 3D) and they don’t float out of your screen! I also added a Fav icon it is a multi color 2026 in pixel art (I uploaded a image bellow) and I created a ReadMe for some information on Github. I removed the box around the numbers because I think it looks better like this. And lastly I added a button to my main site to go to the countdown ( https://loek.oerlemans.tv/projects/index.html )
All these changes are already on Github and on my site so you can view them.

I made the explosions of the numbers cooler and more like firework, all the pixels float up and then the explode and fall.
I also uploaded the site online ( https://loek.oerlemans.tv/countdown_2026 ) for every one to view, but it isn’t done.

I created a pixel art countdown, every time the a number changes the pixels explode(like firework). For the numbers there are multiple color pallets. In the background I added some fireworks because it is cool!
