Hi, it’s me, Michisistemas, with a new update of my project.
First I started by creating the art in LibreSprite (Before I tried to do it in Aseprite but it was paid pipipipi, so I did it here). At the beginning it was weird because I had never drawn on a computer (In a notebook I do terribly), but little by little I got the hang of it, although some sprites came out kind of funny.
The theme of the game is about a soccer player (he is not from any real team ehem ehem and the character is also not someone from real life who likes that team ehem ehem) who has to collect Ballons d’Or while dodging a referee who does not play fair at all. The idea is for it to be a pixel art, platformer game, fun and not so serious, indie style.
One of the biggest difficulties I had was with the animations, especially the jump. My character jumped, but the jump animation was barely noticeable, and I thought it was the sprite’s fault or the speed, so I tried increasing the speed of things I shouldn’t have. And well after that I understood that I had to separate the animation into jump and fall, and when I did that it worked, it was one of those moments of “AAAA now everything makes sense”. Even though it hurt me quite a bit not to use all of my created frames, I only managed to put one per animation (In Jump and Fall) so they could be noticeable. I’m suspecting that I have errors with my tileset, but while my game runs, I think I can be fine (For the moment) so I hope everything is okay jsjsjsjs. And well, I think that would be everything, I also added code to my player, and it can do the walking animation, stay idle and jump. And it can also go to both sides, right and left changing the direction of its look.
And now yes, I think I really finished with my progress, I hope to see you on another occasion, goodbye, I send you a big michihug.
