Shipped this project!

Hey y’all, I built my first game using Godot. I’ve never used Godot before, and I had no idea how to use GDScript, but with some patience I figured it out and made the art over the course of three months.

With that, I hope you guys enjoy my project. Thanks!

GOOD GRIEF. The game is playable now. Not like it’s really too crazy….. can’t even be shipped yet.

  • Game can be played. Sorta.
  • INVENTORY. YOU CAN SEE YOUR INVENTORY. YEAHHh.
  • A small hint towards a secret ending.
  • See the video!!!
  • Art. Furnishings and things like that. Not excellent, but acceptable.

AHsahhdhhhh. Hi to anyone reading this! I’ve never wanted to throw up at a game I made more than this one. I hope it’s worth it in the end lol …

I don’t like how slow this project is going. But here are the updates I guess.

  • Title screen
  • Ending screen
  • Things to process the ending of the game
  • Dialogue for shops and NPCs
  • Some furniture (BUT IT IS VERY SPORADIC. NOT ENOUGH STUFF.)
  • NPCs! I had some fun designing them
  • Tasks to guide the player

Now for some yapping:
Hey everyone!

There’s been an issue that has persisted consistently throughout this month, and just about a week ago, I figured out that it was a faulty scene in my game. So a lot of this time was just spent debugging trying to figure out what’s going on and all that jazz.

If you’re in my channel, you’ve probably seen me crashing out over this multiple times, but I finally fixed it and everything is OK now.

Uhh, to anyone reading this, have a nice day… sending hugs n stuff

Today I worked on some of the hunting game mechanics, and started building a grocery store for the game.

Adds/fixes:

  • The bullets are now working.
  • Bunnies will scatter when they hear the noise of a gunshot
  • Collision between the bullet and the bunny body
  • Dead rabbits stop moving and you can interact with it
  • Limit on the amount of rabbits you need for the sidequest

Bugs/Things I gotta add:

  • ART. THERE ARE SO MANY PLACEHOLDERS!!!
  • All bunnies disappear after a dialogue finishes
  • Add GUI for the inventory system ;-;
  • Dialogue improvements, everyone sounds boring

I think I’m getting a little better at godot…. idk though…

I know I haven’t done an update on this project for a long time, but recently I’ve been able to work on it a little bit more…

So I’ve added a bit of dialogue to the game, along with some new sprites and some scenery.

Two of the notable scenes include the hunting game and the little plush store that you’re able to go into. I can’t even make this up. I spent three or so hours crashing out because there was basically one error in my whole script that kept messing things up… Now you can pick up the gun for the mini game.

Fixes:

  • fixed an issue where you can keep spamming dialogue (even after it runs the first time)
  • player stays in place when interacting with an object

Bugs/silly stuff:

  • No, you are not allowed to take the gun to the stores. Don’t try it. The bullets don’t even move!!
  • Bullet art on the floor.
  • the plushies are on the floor in the store. i’ll make shelves soon i swear

Here’s a project that I’ve been working on!

I am new to the game development with Godot, so a lot of work was mostly debugging and trying to figure out my way around the platform.

I made all of the art up until now by myself, so that’s why it looks a little flat, but I will say I’m proud of the way the tiles turned out.

I think it’s redundant to screenshot all of the code. Later on, when my computer isn’t exploding, I’ll add videos of it in action instead :3

The code shown:
henry_code is his movement, controls, and actionables
gift_handler is when you give gifts to the guy in blue and green
