Finally I got to shipping my project! I spent a while on making a little video to showcase it and posted it to youtube so i could link it to the demo button.
Anyway what i made here is a Radar thing that works with an ultrasonic sensor which detects anything infront of it and then the servo turns a step where the sensor can again detect anything. it sends the data then to a program in processing which then draws it pretty much. the red parts are then the spots where it detects something and the green is nothing.
I created my own tower to put everything in so it kinda looks like a watch tower.
the tower is split into 3 parts. the bottom and middle attach via one magnet on each side and some guiding pin. the top part which has the sensor in it attaches to the servo. That was difficult to strongly attach since it was always wobbly. In my last design which was best i added two holes to sink some inserts into and then i used one attachment that came with the servo and screwed that in. so now it was attached with 3 screws and is much stronger, although it is still a bit wobbly.

Most proud i am about the 3d model, since i think it looks very cool, but also everything in general, since i had never thought i could manage to build this even with a little help from my brother (troubleshooting).

Anyway i hope you enjoy my project and give it a good review!

I built a age where you can calculate how little amounts of time consistently add up to large sums. You can see how time it adds up to per week, per year and after a set amount of time (years) that you set.
Challenging for me was setting a custom color for the sliders, which took a bit of learning, and also the math which was harder to programm in than i thought, because i kept getting confused between the years and weeks and all that.
im very proud of the color scheme and design i choose, as it took pretty long selecting the right colors. I think it looks very clean and professional

I hope you all like my project :DDD

i set up the github, although the link doesnt work yet cause its taking ages to load but oh wellll.
Not much to say, will ship soon.

to all the reviewers i hope you like my project:)

Well finally done with design. I think ive reached the final design i want. I first had a yellowish design but it slowly drifted over to what i have now. I wanted first to make a gradient on the dark grey part of the slider you can see now, but i wasnt sure if people think i used ai, and also in my opinion it looks better and simpler like this.
not much left to say. I’ll now start finishing my github since i havent really started.
:D

started the better looking part. im going for a lighter design, no reason just for fun. not much more to say, im not the best at design so it wont be anything special

After a couple tweaks on the html i started the functional part of everything. I didnt expect it to be so hard as i though it was relativly basic, but there sure is a lot of math i need to programm into it. now i only need to make it look better, and then i can further improve it.

I like making these quick little projects. I have one big project in the making, but with these smaller ones, i feel like i get more done and theres more of an acomplishment feeling.

I created the html file already and ill probably start soon with the js file, but not sure if i have time right away.

I added the title, a short subtitle, then a text field to enter the activity, two sliders, one for minutes a day and one for how often a week.

Still looks ugly of course but its the first step and im excited to see it finished!

Hello welcome to my first project ship!
I built a calculater type thing that show the radiation levels on mars in a shelter with different materials, thickness and mission duration. theres a slider for mission duration and material thickness and a dropdown thing for the material (so far 3 materials. I think its very interesting to see and i also learnt a couple things on the way.
the most difficult thing for me was probably finding how i wanted to start, but all in all it was not my hardest project (prob. cause i havent made many)
im very proud of the design of it. I think it is very appealing, especially the verdict words which have a gradient to them which i think looks veryyy cool.

:DDD

Alright!!! So I finished the design stuff and added a couple features, I also made a text for github, and linked the demo link to my project page. I used CSS for the design and it looks so much better. I went for a blue/dark blue color scheme since i thought it fits best to the space kinda aspect. I coud’ve done orange red cause of mars but i thought it didnt look as good. I also added some gradient color to the verdict words. It looks hella professional in my opinion, but it took way to long to figure out how to do. Not sure if i wrote it in the last devlog but i added comparisons like with bananas which i think adds a lot to it.

I also added some presets. Like short trip has a shelter with thinner lest protective walls, since it doesnt need as much. Not much use, but i thought it was fun to add and i think the buttons look good.
I added Emojis for the verdict to add to the visual information. There just circles like green one for safe conditions.

Anyway, i think i’ll ship this now already and then see how much i add to this and then i can always ship it again later.

I hope everyone who reviews my project thinks its cool and decides to give it a good rating. It would mean a lot to me! ;D

Geez how time flies! finished the funtioning part already. Now im just making it look better and adding functions. I added a comparison ability, so that the radiation is compared to years on earth, bananas and xrays. Cant believe im already so far even though i only started today.

Hello Everyone!
This is my first devlog on my 2 project. I had seen the new Nasa Project thing and instantly had an idea for it.
Since im not home i decided to make something online instead of physical/in-person.
For the start I planned out my plan and what i want to do/what im planning. Then i started creating a raw design for the front page.
Ill finish out the whole function of it and once it works i want to make it look nice and maybe add a couple comparisons, like how many xrays its equivilent to or maybe how many bananas whatever sounds the funnest.

I’m not even sure how i collected this much time! Did a lot of short period work, always a couple minutes here and there working on code, but mainly on setting up my new github page. Theres only so much i can do away from home unfortunatly. Once i get back home ill hopefully have the 3d file finished and printed and then can go into testing. Then i can hopefully record and ship my project so that it can be voted on (positivly of cours :D ).

I used lapse to record time in fusion. So now I could track my time. I started the model but not done yet. Unfortunately at one point I logged the time wrong so I lost some, but I got it all fixed.

Can’t really upload a photo. Away from home and only have phone and laptop.

Finally. I got autodesk to work. Thanks to Obay on Flavortown-help who recommended lapse to me. I can use lapse in order to screen record my activity and then log it which worked. Hopefully it also stays and doesn’t get removed for some reason. With lapse i started 3d modelling for the tower. Before i also finished the processing code (as far as i know) so all i need to do is finish 3d modelling and set everything up. hopefully i can then finish next week and then begin my next project.

I started now with the processing code. I am using VS code for it because i couldnt get the wakatime extension to work on processing, which means i always have to copy it over to check out the design. that also takes time which unfortunately inst tracked. But i guess thats my bad cause i cant figure out this stuff. I’ve also kept trying to be able to track autodesk fusion but nothing works so i might have to use screen recording once i start.

Mainly i am still working on finding out how to track time for autodesk fusion, and now also processing which is what i will use for visualizing my radar. unfortunately i also don’t know how to use processing yet since it uses java. i continued tweaking my code for the Arduino and hopefully i get my parts on Wednesday so i can test it out. I also started writing my Text for the end of the project on how i built it but of course i cant write all of it yet cause I’m not even close to done yet. I also tried downloading the Hackatime desktop software cause maybe that’s easier to track time, but the download website is down, and the only other way is to build it from source and i have no clue how to do that.

continued coding, but couldn’t solve the library problem yet. Also tried setting up the tracking for autodesk fusion but nothing yet of course. spent a lot of time with that but its not logged with so that sucks

I’m currently writing the base script while learning how to because this is my first time making a project! My basic c++ knowledge from school helps a little but I still need help.
I have a problem with the Servo library which isn’t working in VS code so I need to find a solution for that, maybe someone can help me there.
My Brother should have the needed components, however I still need to design a case/tower for it. I hope i can vlog the time it takes to do the 3d modeling to.

I’m working on my first project! I researched a little on the parts I need and how I want to make it. I’ll also need to design a 3d model for the radar to sit.
