Works with an ultrasonic sensor, Arduino and servo. Visualized in processing
Finally I got to shipping my project! I spent a while on making a little video to showcase it and posted it to youtube so i could link it to the demo button.
Anyway what i made here is a Radar thing that works with an ultrasonic sensor which detects anything infront of it and then the servo turns a step where the sensor can again detect anything. it sends the data then to a program in processing which then draws it pretty much. the red parts are then the spots where it detects something and the green is nothing.
I created my own tower to put everything in so it kinda looks like a watch tower.
the tower is split into 3 parts. the bottom and middle attach via one magnet on each side and some guiding pin. the top part which has the sensor in it attaches to the servo. That was difficult to strongly attach since it was always wobbly. In my last design which was best i added two holes to sink some inserts into and then i used one attachment that came with the servo and screwed that in. so now it was attached with 3 screws and is much stronger, although it is still a bit wobbly.
Most proud i am about the 3d model, since i think it looks very cool, but also everything in general, since i had never thought i could manage to build this even with a little help from my brother (troubleshooting).
Anyway i hope you enjoy my project and give it a good review!
I’m not even sure how i collected this much time! Did a lot of short period work, always a couple minutes here and there working on code, but mainly on setting up my new github page. Theres only so much i can do away from home unfortunatly. Once i get back home ill hopefully have the 3d file finished and printed and then can go into testing. Then i can hopefully record and ship my project so that it can be voted on (positivly of cours :D ).

I used lapse to record time in fusion. So now I could track my time. I started the model but not done yet. Unfortunately at one point I logged the time wrong so I lost some, but I got it all fixed.
Can’t really upload a photo. Away from home and only have phone and laptop.

Finally. I got autodesk to work. Thanks to Obay on Flavortown-help who recommended lapse to me. I can use lapse in order to screen record my activity and then log it which worked. Hopefully it also stays and doesn’t get removed for some reason. With lapse i started 3d modelling for the tower. Before i also finished the processing code (as far as i know) so all i need to do is finish 3d modelling and set everything up. hopefully i can then finish next week and then begin my next project.

I started now with the processing code. I am using VS code for it because i couldnt get the wakatime extension to work on processing, which means i always have to copy it over to check out the design. that also takes time which unfortunately inst tracked. But i guess thats my bad cause i cant figure out this stuff. I’ve also kept trying to be able to track autodesk fusion but nothing works so i might have to use screen recording once i start.

Mainly i am still working on finding out how to track time for autodesk fusion, and now also processing which is what i will use for visualizing my radar. unfortunately i also don’t know how to use processing yet since it uses java. i continued tweaking my code for the Arduino and hopefully i get my parts on Wednesday so i can test it out. I also started writing my Text for the end of the project on how i built it but of course i cant write all of it yet cause I’m not even close to done yet. I also tried downloading the Hackatime desktop software cause maybe that’s easier to track time, but the download website is down, and the only other way is to build it from source and i have no clue how to do that.

continued coding, but couldn’t solve the library problem yet. Also tried setting up the tracking for autodesk fusion but nothing yet of course. spent a lot of time with that but its not logged with so that sucks

I’m currently writing the base script while learning how to because this is my first time making a project! My basic c++ knowledge from school helps a little but I still need help.
I have a problem with the Servo library which isn’t working in VS code so I need to find a solution for that, maybe someone can help me there.
My Brother should have the needed components, however I still need to design a case/tower for it. I hope i can vlog the time it takes to do the 3d modeling to.
