Sooo… After excessive testing (and I mean excessive…) I ended up deciding on using a Logitech Keyboard since it’ll be easier to program (probably…) And, I also ended up modeling the keycaps myself and adding some extra skirt length so the light doesn’t escape too easily at the bottom. I’ve been working on making all of the keycaps have the modifier shrinkwrap so I can make the texture be the original texture I made. I also have to apply the same modifier for the letter, with slightly different settings. This is highly tedious, which explains why I work on other projects too! I tend to work on them in blocks of 5 keycaps then print them, which takes around 4 hours per block. Blender is getting pretty laggy, so I gotta be real patient and sometimes I get rid of at least 20 extra tabs running in background to decrease lag (you gotta do what you gotta do :)). I’ve finished a lot of the generic keys and I will be working on the extra keys like the spacebar and the shift keys soon!
side note: I had blender open cause I was about to work on the models then tried to open prusaslicer so I could get a screenshot of my most recent block of models for the attachment and then my computer crashed lol. It’s all fine Flavortown saved my writing and all, but I guess I know what not to have open at the same time.
