The project is essentially keycaps and software on a specific keyboard (which I haven’t found yet :() and the idea is that it looks like the intro of stranger things specifically the upside down part with the giant N. And the keycaps will probably have transparent parts for the letters so I can make them flash certain colors when I want them to.

I am using Gemini to help me out with certain things like exporting or how to complete a certain look I wasn’t sure how to do, since I am new to Blender.

Recently I’ve been modeling more of the keycaps on blender. I think I’ve finished one keycap, but I haven’t printed it out yet, so I will do that soon. The keycap I’ve finished is the Z key. I’ll probably print it before trying to finish up the other keycaps, since I don’t want to have to fix around 59 keycaps. The keycaps will be printed on my Ender 3 S1 and with transparent PETG filament so I can paint on the vines but the letters will be see-through. My hope is to be able to have it so the letters are like the portals to the Upside-Down. For all of the special keys like the shift and enter keys, I might just print figures and put them on there or maybe a cap to go on the key if I don’t want to model those separately.
I did get the 3d model of the keycap from: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:7165604

Today I’ve been sculpting the vines on blender. There was some extra hour or so of modeling the bike on Fusion but that didn’t work with Hackatime so that time isn’t accounted for here :(

I’m getting a Logitech G213 because it should work with OpenRGB which is what I hope to use. I tried using a Keychron K2 but it didn’t work with it even after flashing several times :\

I’m probably going to wait on putting the texture on keycaps because I’m probably doing this for the normal size keys and also because of Amazon shipping speeds, I don’t have the keyboard yet, probably getting it around sometime next week. So once I get that, I can make a layout of the keys and bake the design on. Then I can make the other special sized keycaps have little figurines on them like the enter key could have a Demodog or something fun.

(side note: I asked my dad how it looked and his only reply was that it wasn’t red lol)
