PukuPuku: The most kawaii Linux Task Manager! 🐧✨

Say goodbye to boring system monitors! PukuPuku is a friendly Linux task manager where a cute character watches over your PC.

Mood Swings: The character’s expression changes based on your CPU load! (Normal / Working Hard / Panic)

Modern & Fast: Built with Rust & GTK4, based on the reliable Mission Center architecture. Accurate and snappy!

Just Friendly: Making Linux monitoring fun and accessible for everyone.

Linux task managers like KDE or GNOME can feel a bit overwhelming for Windows users or beginners.

That’s why I built this! With a character that shows CPU load in 3 simple stages and a Windows-like design, I wanted to create a “modern and intuitive task manager.”

Developing this was also a huge learning step for me—it helped me understand how Linux works under the hood (like the /proc filesystem) and was my first real step into low-level development!

From now on, I would like to make it compatible with processing other than the CPU.

I’ve moved everything over to Flatpak for easier use and added support for image/window resizing!
Also made some smaller polishments: invisible images off in the app details view, and I’ve translated the README into English.

A cute task manager for Linux based on Mission Center!

It features adorable illustrations that react to your real-time CPU usage to let you know how your system is doing. Up next, I’ll be working on polishing the layout and design. Stay tuned!
