This is a site where you can own and care for a digital pet rock.

In this project, you can:

  • Customize your rock: Drag and drop the eyes and mouth to design its face.
  • Interact: Feed and pet your rock to keep it happy.
  • Communication: I added a speech system so the rock can talk to you, whether it’s asking for food, attention, or just saying hello.
  • Hunger Mechanics: There is a live hunger bar to help you track when your buddy needs a snack.

I have made several updates to Boulder Buddy to make the experience more interactive and polished.

New Features:

  • Hunger System: Added a hunger bar that visually tracks the rock’s status. It decreases over time, requiring the user to feed the rock to keep it satisfied.
  • The rock now has a speech bubble system. It can randomly talk, ask for food, or request to be petted.
  • Added a favicon to the site.

You can now feed and pet the rock.
First, place the eyes and mouth, then, a “next” button shows up. Clicking “next” reveals the feed and pet buttons.
When you click the feed button, the rock eats, you will see particles and you will also hear a sound.
Clicking the pet button makes a hand appear, the hand pets the rock.

I added the start page where you can build your own Boulder Buddy!
The eyes follow your cursor, and you can drag and drop both the eyes and mouth onto the rock to customize your character.
