track your Hack Club mail, all while avoiding the web clutter and lags!! (especially on the global map that keeps lagging if you know what I mean)

This project uses AI

Google Gemini 3 Pro for quick debugging and summarizing documentation to get quick information on how to use the axios library for HTTP requests (I was lazy to browse thru docs just to waste time)

with this project, hack club mail is now at the fingerprints of your terminal, making checking your mail quicker and cooler-ish? i guess!
also i’m very happy because the earth map works and is way faster than the web version that’s very cluttered and keeps dragging my browser to an halt
so this actually works and this is pretty cool!
making the project was fun and i learnt a lot about using APIs and idk doing stuff id often do in bash but this time in js :)

FINALLY SHIPPING!!!

finished all the READMEs and frontends and website and stuff
and also made the global earth map, kinda like how it is on hackclub mail’s website it represents all the mail sent globally via hackclub worldwide! with status like mailed, recieved, etc… (https://mail.hackclub.com/map).
you can zoom with the ctrl + scroll wheel to get more readable screen real estate and see more information btw!! (and exit with escape, ctrl-c, q, whataver your liking is)

so yeah, now shippign thjis project! and if you have anything to report or suggestions pls either drop them on github or in the comments

first devlog!!! (sorry, i completely forgot to make devlogs and make the project on flavortown so thats why theres so little devlogs)

made all the main app excluding the global earth view. so this is like hack club mail app where you can list your incoming mail and packages and see their statuses, IDs, all that all the information but right from a terminal app. its also noticebly way faster than having to go thru it on the website.

it saves the API key locally and does requests via the hack club mail API! (you need to get a hack club mail api key from mail.hackclub.com’s website)
idk what else to say but yes 5h devlog
and also i started working on the HTML/README at that time for the static pages when i was writing this devlog so yeah but now they are fully done
