I built a site with a big red button that you absolutely should not click… ;)
The button has a mind of its own: it moves, shrinks, disappears, and more.
⚠️ Warning: If it turns into a nuke and you click it, prepare for a tab explosion!
I think it turned out pretty funny.
I might add in the future even more dialogue and weird behaviors.

I did a lot of things:
First things first: the site is officially live! You can now experience the frustration yourself at: loek.oerlemans.tv/big-red-button.
I expanded the button’s personality. It’s no longer just a static object; it’s a character that gets increasingly frustrated. I added over 20 new dialogue phases, ranging from mild warnings to “calling for help” and eventually complete system failure.
It will:
- disappear, but turning visible after a while.
- try to dodge you, by moving away from the cursor
- get really small, by shrinking to 1*1 px
- call for help, by opening new tabs.
- give you a jumpscare
- turn into a nuke button

You are lucky that I have 48 gigs of ram (bought before the great shortage of 25’) or else you might have cooked my pc. the project is very interesting i’ll say!
I’ve added the “Big Red Button.” To make the interaction feel more satisfying, I added a custom animation for the press state.
I also built a progression system: the header text updates dynamically as you click. After 10 clicks, the button turns a deeper shade of red to show its “frustration,” and once you hit 15 clicks, the button disappears entirely.
