Chipping away at controls and audio now, both unfinished. Audio on the PS1 is a bit annoying…
Here’s a little test song I made in OpenMPT, for now! The goal is to have it playing it in the PS1 by the next devlog…

Textured models in my (actual) PS1 game!
Featured in this video:
The textured cube is just the cube from the previous devlog with some crappy texture I drew on Aseprite, though it was still a bit of a battle to get the texture loading properly!
The ico sphere may look boring in comparison, but I had to fiddle a bit with my custom binary model format in some annoying ways to get it to work, so it’s dear to my heart… No textures involved—just assigning solid colors to the model! The process is incredibly finicky (I need to name the Blender material with the hex color code lmao,) but it works!!! Yeah!!!

Progress on the PS1 game, got models loading in! Here’s a basic untextured cube…
I wanted to show a textured model but I gotta take my little bro to soccer practice haha. Next devlog for sure!

Working on a PS1 game!!!
Tried a couple of times in the past to homebrew for this console, but always bounced off for one reason or another… Well, now my scope’s reduced, my computer’s a-runnin’ good, and I got a cool idea for a game (the possibility of a prize is also quite the incentive)
As is tradition in homebrews—behold! Hello World text!!!
