I made the start screen for the game. It is terminal based and I hope everyone enjoys it.

Started working on the settings app
Features:-

• The settings app contains three different tabs as of now.
• When you select the desired tab on the sidebar it appears on the main area.
• THE CATCH: The active tab is stored in sessionStorage, when you refresh the page/minimize the window/close the app and reopen it later, the same active tab will be opened. This makes it feel like a real operating system(the active tab will persist as long as your session is alive, once you leave the site, all session data is lost, refreshing does not erase session data).

I have attached a clip of me showcasing this feature by refreshing the site multiple times.

Added a lot of things!

Firstly, I added the feature to move application windows and shortcuts on the desktop

Then I added the feature to minimize the window(by clicking the yellow dot), when an app is opened, it appears on the taskbar and can be minimized by clicking the button in the taskbar too.

When a new window is opened or a window is minimized, the state is kept in the sessionStorage, so, when the browser is refreshed the windows which were open or minimized stay as they were.

SUMMARY - Added window minimization, shortcut and window movement, persistent window position, persistent opened window and minimized window states.

Added window features - the user can now click on any application in the desktop and the window will appear, the user can close the window using the close button and can also scroll if any material in the window overflows.

The user can also drag and put the window anywhere on the desktop.

Migrated the whole project from just being a local app to an actual web application with an UI to interact with.

-Added better pillow image creation
-Added better buffer management using the IO library
-Added distortions to the captcha using sine functions to make it harder for CRO bots to crack
-Added a streamlit UI for better experience.

Added a popup which notifies you if the limit for the free api is reached.

Still have to make it look persistently for api responses.

The popup remains hidden for now.

Also have to add some good styling to it.

I migrated the whole website from Python and streamlit to NextJS(hosted on vercel). I redesigned the site and used an API which lets you explore the full recipe!

Added the navbar component and also the Vikram Lander component.

Added a top-bar to the OS and also added a Real Time Clock to the top-bar

Created the wallpaper loader and the shortcut/icon loader.
The shortcuts still don’t, will make them work in next log.

Made multiple core libraries in order to help me out in “refining” the data as currently it has many inconsistencies in it which alter the results.
vocabulary.py - converts the complex dataset into a unique set of ingredients (a vocabulary)
cleaner.py - cleans the vocabulary into “human-appropriate” ingredients
inspector.py - helps in viewing the data and vocabulary

I also added many tests to check inconsistencies in the vocabularizing algorithm.

I have also put up an under construction notice on the frontend to manage the backend as of now.

Made a vocabulary class which turns the complex list of repeating ingredients in the dataset into a sorted list with unique ingredients.

Also ran repeating tests to put stress on the logic.
It passed all the tests.

I have decided to start from the bottom and do everything from scratch. TF-IDF, Vectorization, Cosine similarity, Data cleansing, Web scraping for ingredient prices, I’ll do all that from scratch.

Created the first working prototype.
I have currently decided to deploy it on streamlit because it is the only way to run the Recommendation Engine and UI together.
Still have t clean the dataset.

Upgraded the UI a lot!

I changed the whole color theme of the website.
It was the most dreadful experience but I think it was worth it! Will attach some pictures of the main pages and the 404 Not Found page :)

I added some new links such as a link for Joining a room, and one to create a room(PS: I haven’t made the backend yet)

I also didn’t like the default 404 Not Found page for NextJS so I customised it.

Personal milestone:Managed to make these updates without using AI :)))

I added the Navbar component with working links. I also added a little box below the navbar which shows the current page the user is in.

I made the website’s first page!
