I made the explorer! You can now select other text objects and even change their text and font sizes after creating new ones! I also added the option to change the space between the grid lines, so you are no longer limited to ones with 2mm spacing!

Next update: maybe adding PDF export for the label? not sure though so maybe something else :)

I added grid lines placed at 2mm from eachother and the ability for users to change text and text size. I tried fixing the width and height text for the text, but I had to remove it because I spent too much time working on it and it still doesn’t work.

Up next on Label Maker: grid lines for middle of the label, and margins! (I will try working on dragging, but no promises on it working!) I should work on some exporting also, but that seems really hard, so even if I shouldn’t do this, I will delay that again…

I made some progress by making the user be able to change the position of the text and show the actual width and height of the text. This took a long time because it had a lot of bugs and I had a hard time actually searching for features on the PySide6 docs. I also added the basic values for a label paper I have at home.

Up next: changing text and font size and maybe color!

Fourth devlog, yippie! This project is really starting to take shape! I added a small bar on the bottom for importing assets (and by assets I mean text, qr codes, bar codes and others). I also added a text asset that for now only adds the text template, but the arhitecture for reloading elements is basically done.

Up next on flavortown: Making users be able to scale, move, size and edit text!

Third devlog! Today I made the UI better and added some text so the user knows where the x and y axis are and made the A4 paper format be the one auto set. I also added a zoom function.

What to do next: add the element creation panel (somewhere under the canvas) that will have things like text or maybe even QR codes and bar codes.

My second devlog! I finally worked on some real coding, and ow you can actually set paper dimensions, margins and get a calculated size for the actual labels. It also shows you the actual label on the main canvas.

The next step is to make you actually be able to add items to the label like text (and maybe bar codes and QR codes) or maybe work a bit more on the canvas and make a zoom feature.

I worked a bit on the UI and I will probably change it a bit later on. The data is placeholder and the fields do nothing. Either way, took me long enough and I will probably work on some actual coding now.
