Shipped this project!

I built a really fun website, where the character’s (Homer in this case) eyes follow your cursor around the screen. Applying the concept and math aspect in the code was definitely the hardest and most rewarding part of this project.

Okay, I added some pretty cool features; other than plugging my name and github, i made the page resizable with relative instead of absolute positions and made the cursor a donut for the themes

Polished up the UI and some logic and now ready to ship.

I prototyped the cursor eye tracker using a black dot on a white square and rotating using trig functions (atan2) for the angles. I think this is a good first step into the real thing.

I added an autonomous feature with an ultrasonic sensor. If the car detects obstacles, it will turn around and move in an opposite direction. I am pretty proud of how it turned out, especially the wiring involved without a breadboard.

i repurposed the project to be a car which plots images.

I built an RC car that is controlled via joycon over a webapplication. It was working until it broke and now it cant be fixed (probably to do with my network). It was a great learning experience about electronics and networks and I wish to add on more features in the future.

I ran into a networking problem with the websocket, which, for the life of me, I could not fix. I decided to move onto a new project with the RC car.

I modded a new rc car with the same parts as last time, except the two motors dictate steer and throttle, which my code needs to be altered to cover. Next time, I will focus on reworking everything and making sure the websocket end still works, then driving.

The throttle works on the car after much debugging. Work on turning later and repair the car itself.

First devlog – the car already works with the pi and the controller works over the websocket and webapplication, so the last step is combining the two.

I’m working on my first project! This is so exciting. I can’t wait to share more updates as I build.
