I really wanted a WORKING Figma desktop and LeetCode desktop in Nix, so I decided to make this template. Basically, it turns a URL into a desktop app using Electron. And all you need to do to create a new app is to edit config.json and clone the repo (only 4 lines of editing!). Wrapping the URL using Electron is pretty easy, but making everything work in Nix is a big hassle (I suck at Nix). It encountered a lot of challenges like dlls not linking, .desktop entries not recognized, the config.json not being recognized, etc. I ended up spending way more time than I thought but it’s worth it!
It’s not a traditional project but I’ve spent quite some time to hack together a template that turns a URL into a desktop app in Nix!

Its a nice looking and optimized linktree page for my school! It’s something simple yet very useful. I made the project for learning Astro so it isn’t something complex.
Make the Astro Image tag use rem, added some docs, tested it, and making the readme! Basically adding those final touches, ready to ship now!

Added a build number in the footer, making and styling the footer, added loading the fonts locally. As a project for learning Astro, it has been quite fun!

Made a lot of stuff! Like styling the header, making a gradient background, holy grails, responsive grid, image optimization, etc blah blah blah. Gonna add some final touches and more optimization tmr! I will probably animate the header using animejs too.

Not a lot of visual changes, just a bunch of minor tweaks in the layout, css, and project structure.

Just get started on Astro! Added some basic structure, buttons, css, etc. Continue to learn astro and fixing the holy grail layout, it aint working :<
