YouTube Reasoner: Do you really need to do that time wasting doom-scroll?

A chrome extension designed to cure addictions by asking you for a valid reason, powered by Gemini API!
When you open YouTube, a popup appears, asking for your reason, it then consults gemini and if it is a good reason, you are in! If not, you will be rejected and locked out for 5 mins!

This update:

  • Added stats page
  • Removed a bug resulting in the blur to stay

  • Code Readability
  • Some CSS bugs

So Far:

  • Made the base extension & Idea
  • Made icons

To do:

  • Spend £5 uploading to the google web store
  • Try and use a different, free API, (Leaning towards Cloudflare AI)

AI Usage (Not Much)

  • Code Readability
  • The prompt for the gemini API
