Photo Finance is a modern tool built using the MERN(MongoDB, ExpressJS, ReactJS, NodeJS) stack and Gemini API key to help you easily manage your personal money.
✨ Key Features
Receipt Scanning (Gemini API): Use the expense feature to upload an image of a physical receipt. The Gemini API uses OCR (Optical Character Recognition) to automatically read the details (like the total amount and merchant) and log the new expense for you.
This project was built starting with a MERN stack foundation from Build a Full-Stack MERN Expense Tracker | React, Node.js, MongoDB, Express | MERN Project by Time by Code. I chose this to learn the basics of database connectivity, and then I heavily modified the code to include my custom Gemini API receipt scanner and custom responsive CSS for the charts.
