An AI-powered search using hackclub-ai and hackclub-search. The project fetches search data and feeds the user prompt and the relevant queries into an LLM. This is supposed to be an opensource alternative to Perplexity
I got github oauth to work via appwrite. Now my main goal is to get the core UI once signed up to have a sidebar and and save the chats. I am realising that this project could be very very hard to build if I want that perplexity like feeling without all the bullshit they output. I also need to decide my base AI model and I will probably add a model chooser.

There were some weird errors with the AI route and then the chatbox wasn’t centering. But I have md rendering and the chatbox has moved to the bottom

Ok i got it to finally work! I think it looks awesome right now. I couldn’t get the chat UI to work out, so i decided to Vibe code the UI (i know AI slop but I was stuck and about to throw my laptop out of the window). But I will fix the ugly looking UI and also add Markdown support to the chat to render MD. Check out the video below:

Hey! I saw this and I recommend you add streaming to the model. It would look a lot nicer!
