I built a website for my local Hack Club in Hungary. It’s a collection of guides for our newcomers. The hardest part was to display clean URLs while also making refreshing the page work.

andrew

I created the tutorial for applying for GitHub Education and implemented language switching for it. I also removed the Slack and Hack Club tutorials because I found them redundant. On the homepage I modified the grid layout of the tiles.

I implemented the language toggle for the hackatime and auth tutorials. Furthermore I managed to finally make reloading work while still having clean displayed URLs.

Created the tutorial for two elements in markdown and then added it into the page. I also made some styling changes to the brand display and the order of the guide elements.

Worked on the actual guides’ pages. Designed the sidebar and added the dark-grey background. I also implemented a search bar, but it doesn’t work yet.

I modified the tiles’ hover animation, because I think the circling white line around the border was too distracting. Furthermore I cleaned up the URLs of the website, so now it doesn’t display that the guide pages’ source files are in the guides directory and also hides the .html ending.

I created the basis of the website. Finalized the landing page with hover effects and float-in animation on the cards. There is also a language toggle for multi-language support. Furthermore I started to work on the guides pages.
