basically, i want to get better at cad. I know how to make a robots and gears and screws, but i want something abstract. that’s all just following constraints and dimensions. i want to make pokemon with no guide drawings and just pure trial and error. who knows, they might look good. and you can have all the 3d models for free to print! it might take up all your filament tho

created my first pokemon model, nosepass :)

during the frc robotics competition last month, me and my friends made a bunch of mini nosepasses out of pool noodles (attached). it became our little mascot for the event and i wanted to make my own version of a nosepass.

it took a while to figure this out. im used to just modeling extrude aluminum and gears which, at their core, are just rectangles and cylinders. nosepass is made of irregularly shaped rocks which proved difficult to sculp and make. i relied on drafting and extruding for most of it, though im sure theres a much much easier way. i also made each body part seperate as assembling them together seemed easier than modeling each part to fit on top of one another.

next pokemon i make might be my all time favorite: whimsicott. we will see tho
