OpenPaddock

Alrighty! We made it to the first Devlog for this project! I’ve actually had a ton of fun starting this project, and it’s looking good so far!
What happened:

1. The first thing I worked on was adding a small splash screen of a garage opening when you first enter the page. I’m fairly new to HTML, CSS, and JavaScript so I wanted to start with something fun.
2. The other thing I worked on was the landing page after the garage door opens. I want this to be the main hub that you’re able to get to all the other features from. I started off with the “race widget”, this has the next races name, schedule, weather, and local vs track time. It also features a countdown to the actual race for the upcoming weekend. The main thing to note, is that all the data fields are currently just text. I’ll be working on connecting those with my api’s after I get everything else layed out.

What I learned:
Like I said above, I’m new to all the languages I’m using in this project so it’s fair to say everything I’m doing so far is a learning experience. I’m fairly fluent in a few other languages so I’m excited to add these to my list!
Another fun thing I learned was making the garage door splash screen. I thought it would be a lot more difficult but after some googling it ended up not being too hard!
