Optical Logic Gate — Computing with Light
Building a proof-of-concept optical transistor using colored lasers instead of silicon. A red laser = binary 1, blue laser = binary 0, and a color sensor reads the state. No electrons in the logic path — just light. The goal is to demonstrate that binary logic gates can be built entirely from photons, which generate near-zero heat compared to silicon transistors. If this scales, it could eliminate the cooling crisis that datacenters face today.
