This is an e-ink USB-C PCB badge that I’m building since I loved the Github one so much, and want to make my own!
I used Gemini to help me build the schematic and to check over parts of the board so see if it was up to spec.

I finally built it! I though it would definitely take longer than I thought, but in the end, it only took me like 4.3 hours which isn’t too bad at all!
For this I added 2 lapse projects. The first one was meant to only be the start of the routing, but due to some lapse bugs, that one came afterwards thus why I have one big one. After designing the schematic, I spent about 2.2 hours routing the whole board. Most of the board was quite simple to route. There definitely was a lot of overlap on traces, and could definitely be improved upon at a future date.
Surprisingly, routing the USB-C was a lot easier than usual. Usually, I get weird overlap issue with the D+ and D-, but this time around it worked perfectly fine. I think the issue was that before I was using a weird ESD IC which caused it to flip 2 times, which in-tern screwed it up.
Also, routing the FPC cable was easier than I though. Like half the connections just went to ground which was goated!
Overall, routing this took a lot quicker than I expected, and I really enjoyed routing this!

Pretty much finished the schematic. I made the whole power boosting circuit for the e-ink display. I needed to bump by 3.3V voltage to close to 15V to be able to drive it. This circuit was pretty hard since there were a lot of high voltage parts and it all needed to go correctly, but after some time + some looking over from gemini, I got it in a working state!
On top of this, I finished the USB-C parts placement, and the NAND flash since the RP2040 doesn’t have an integrated one. I also added 4 buttons for WASD to explore the device.

Started working on my schematic for my e-ink badger! I started off by using Gemini to help me figure out what parts I should be using, and I decided on using the RP2040 along with a waveshare e-ink display with a 24 pin FPC cable, and started the usb stuff.
I mostly worked on researching components and all of that.
