reactor is a nuclear reactor simulation based on Higgsino Physics’ video “Chernobyl Visually Explained”. It uses simplified mechanics to illustrate real functions of a nuclear reactor, such as control rods, neutron moderators, and more.

Main features are pretty much done. Here are the most important ones:

  • Neutrons interact with uranium to release more neutrons
  • Control rods absorb neutrons to reduce the rate of the reaction
  • Neutron moderators slow down fast neutrons so they can interact with other reactor elements
  • Water can absorb neutrons, but neutrons also heat it up, which can cause it to evaporate
  • Added sound for neutron-uranium collision
  • Added various demo modes which can be selected upon launch.
