Vantage

Vantage is a solo project that aims to create an AI-driven “Co-Pilot” that combines global navigation with local safety, helping the visually impaired with spatial awareness by integrating GPS routing and Computer Vision for independent travel. The user speaks naturally, e.g., “Vantage, take me to the nearest pharmacy,” and the system provides real-time, voice-guided directions. The camera scans for hazards; if GPS says “Turn Left” but an obstacle is detected, the AI overrides the command with warnings and alternative routes. Current tools force trade-offs between simple maps and costly hardware, which can cost more than 3000 dollars. Our solution combines a voice assistant and edge hazard detection to offer an affordable, comprehensive navigation system, addressing physical dangers and economic barriers.
